easily explained! RSS is not that confusing if you realize that
it is simply a specially coded file or page that lists a series
of headlines along with a short description of the content
that is being syndicated.

provides a link to the full version of the content.

How It Works
A program known as a feed reader or aggregator checks RSS coded web pages and displays any updated website content that it finds to the user of the reader software.

This technology is called pull technology rather than push technology.
RSS is explained as pull technology because the RSS reader user gets to pull the information to herself rather than have it pushed to her through emails and spam!
