You need Propaganda in your life. The software that is!

If you’re struggling to piece together all the various elements of podcasting, you’ve probably said to yourself, “I need one tool that can do it all!”

Propaganda is that tool. Record, create and edit audio in the easy-to-use recording interface. Then when it’s time to publish, the software walks you step-by-step through the process to create the XML code that you’ll need. It can then upload the code and the MP3 files if you’d like.

Dave Sampson of MixMeister, the company that created Propaganda, says “we’re aiming at two markets. To create audio with Propaganda, all you need is a microphone. When I tested it, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the recording. Yes, I have a top-notch microphone, but I wasn’t expecting quite the high quality of sound.

After you’ve laid down your vocal track, you can edit, chop, slice and dice until you get the final take.

Then add in MP3 tracks such as music; drop in a transition sound effects provided by Propaganda, such as drums, swoops, news logos, etc. and create the final product.

As you’re publishing you have the option of exporting the MP3 file at any quality you’d like from 8kbps to 320 kbps. The lower the number, the lower the quality but the smaller the file. You’ll have to experiment to see what works best for you. I’m currently using 64kbps – the quality is sufficient and it keeps the audio file small enough so that downloading it doesn’t take a long time.
