My Yahoo RSS Feed Tutorial
Get your RSS feed listed in the My Yahoo RSS directory for fast
inclusion in the search engines!
When you list your RSS feed as added content to your MyYahoo page, the
content of your feed is immediately syndicated on the web!
Step 1. Go to http://my.yahoo.com
and register for a free account if you don't already have a Yahoo email
account or a Yahoo free account for submitting your site to Yahoo.
Step 2. Then, log into "My Yahoo" using your Yahoo account user
name and password.
Step 3. Find the tab that says "Add Content."

Step. 4. Click on the link that says, "Add RSS
by URL."

Step 5. Copy and paste the url from
your RSS (xml) page into the URL: box. Your link should look like this:
http://www.mysite.com/rss.xml where
www.mysite.com
is replaced by your
site url and rss.xml is replaced by the name you used to save and post the
rss feed to your website. Be sure to include a directory in this path if
you placed your xml page in a directory on your website.

Step. 6. This takes you to a
display of your News Blog and your first entry and any other
blog entries that you have made and uploaded to your website.
Don't click on the Add button (circled in
blue) just yet.
Instead, notice on the right (circled in red
below) is a list of entries that have been made in your blog. If you have
only done one entry, then you will see only one link in this list.
This is a good time to check to make sure
that all links that you listed in your RSS feed are working correctly. Right click on the link or links of
entries and open into a new window (if you simply click on the link it
takes you away from Yahoo and you are not done yet!).
Right clicking on the link, opens a new window which should go to the
page on your website that matches the headline and description listed in
your RSS feed.
Once you know the links are working
properly, then click on the ADD button at the bottom of the listing
description.

Step. 7. Click on the link "Go
To My Yahoo!' to return to your Home Page.

Step. 8. Notice that your RSS feed has been added to the My Yahoo RSS Directory! You know
this because it shows up on the Home Page of your MyYahoo.

If you want to double
check your RSS feed in the directory, click on the Add Content button
on your MyYahoo home page again, and put your keyword phrase for your
MyYahoo RSS feed in the Find Content search box.

On the next page, you should
find the listing for your RSS feed along with any other RSS feeds for the
same topic in the My Yahoo RSS Directory.
Notice that you could click
on the link that says "Add" next to your competition's listing and
immediately add it to your My Yahoo page.
This is how others will find
you in the My Yahoo RSS Directory and how they can add your RSS feed to
their My Yahoo home page!
This is only one of the
benefits of being in the My Yahoo RSS Directory.

Step 9.
That's it!
Only one more thing to do. Put an "Add to My
Yahoo!" button
on the home page of
your News BLog. It's easy to create the code at
http://my.yahoo.com/s/button.html
Step. 10. After all this is done, be sure to list your RSS
feed in all the other RSS directories you can find!
